Title
APPROVAL OF INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT FOR PUBLICATION OF ADVERTISEMENTS AND PUBLIC NOTICES ON SARASOTA COUNTY’S PUBLICLY ACCESSIBLE WEBSITE
Description
This is an agreement with Sarasota County, pursuant to Section 50.0311, F.S. to allow the School District to publish required advertisements and public notices on the Sarasota County government website.
For each policy creation or revision, the School District must publish a Notice of Rule Development, then after the item first appears on a Regular Board Meeting Agenda, a Notice of Proposed Rule must be published, which includes the rule in its entirety. Currently that is done in the newspaper, and if done with the 22 policies on this agenda, the cost for those advertisements would be over $27,000.
Per this agreement, the County will provide its website to the School District to publish notices within the County’s chosen template and format, the County will provide access to the School District to publish notices, and provide a link to the notices on the homepage of its website. The School District will comply with all legal requirements for posting notices, follow the guidelines set forth by the County, and will provide the County with a list of authorized users who can publish advertisements and notices after receiving County training.
