APPROVAL OF THE REVISED JOB DESCRIPTION CABINET MAKER
Description
Changing the description of Cabinet Maker to allow a trainee to be hired in lieu of fully skilled tradesman.
Gap Analysis
At this point due to the shortages of skilled labor and the district’s inability to compete with outside entities to attract skilled labor into the district, we are attempting to alleviate this problem by offering a trainee position in place of a fully trained technician.
Previous Outcomes
Facilities has attempted several times to post and hire a fully trained Cabinet Maker, but we have not been able to succeed.
Expected Outcomes
Offering different levels of skills a at lower payrate will attract internal and possibly external candidates who will then go through a training program until they reach the desired level of a fully trained Cabinet Maker with full pay.

To approve the Job Description as presented with the potential of offering candidates an opportunity for advancement.
